Kara no Kyoukai...

...was simply amazing.

It was totally worth the 5 month wait for the first DVD release. Now to wait for another indefinite period of time for the next 6 parts. XD

The best part of the movie was the next minute, of every minute.
Prototype char count for Tsukihime stands at 4, this is purely from a personal standpoint. If I missed any, somebody let me know.
So far I think I've seen the Tohno Shiki, Arcueid, Aoko, and Akiha prototypes.

The voice cast seems delectable (Tanaka, Noto, I'm sold), I may have to pick this up later... after I pry open my EHD to try and get it to work of course... or maybe not.

Right, so I finally got around to watching Kara and it was just lovely. Now to wait for George's character.

That second episode was pretty good, can't say it was as good as the first solely because for this ep we saw the return of "I'm a bitch" Tohno Shiki - Kokutou, as well as some really unimaginative scripting for his lines. The entire time I was just thinking he might as well of said, I believe in you who believes in me who believes in you who believes in yourself.
But it had its saving grace with White Len and Black Len stuffed animals, a good story to how they met up with each other, and an awesome cliffhanger.
A Couple of other changes that could have been there besides rewriting Kokutou's script would have been, a romantic ending after Shiki tried to kill Kokutou (RAIN SEXXXXX), unless this ruins some kind of future plot device, and Straight out tell the audience (in a theatric way) that her significant "attribute" is her glowing eyes cause we already know from ep.1.
Lastly, Arihiko's prototype in this show is alot more like-able than his real self in the Tsukihime anime and game.
I guess we're meeting Noto Mamiko (my other other Goddess) in the next ep which looks to be exciting.
But we have to wait till July 23rd for this one.

Yeah I saw the previews, seems like Noto is once again in her typecast, though we get the added twist of her being nuts this time. Works for me.

Kokutou is more like a device for exposition rather than another main character. It's just that there are so few characters that he pretty much is a main character just by being there (aside from him there's only Aozaki Touko). Also, I can't remember there being more to Murder Speculation, so I hope I didn't miss anything since that was apparently the 'first half' (the site has the latter half listed as the 7th movie).

Remaining Sense of Pain is going to have a lot more action and a lot more of Shiki owning. Dunno if they'll split that chapter up cuz the preview looked like it'd show pretty much all of it. I wonder how they'll make 7 movies because those 3 movies were pretty much the 3 chapters that I read... unless Mirror-Moon lied and there's actually more to KnK, which would be both not-cool and awesome at the same time.

Awesome. That was pretty much how I imagined they'd handle the novel (Noto was an added bonus). I wasn't sure how they'd handle the rape, but I guess since it wasn't TV or anything, they just showed it XD.

Also, 4th movie is titled "The Hollow" and I immediately thought of Bleach. Next episode: watch Shiki unleash her BANKAI.

Uh huh... Showing this to chase as his intro into the series was indeed a strange experience.. but he still liked it overall, sadly I wish he could've seen the first two first cause I think they were better. Although I still enjoyed this episode alot I think my ratings on them from 1 to 3 corresponds with their episode number (2 could've been the best had they fired the dialogue writer for Kokutou and hired someone who's worked in romance stories before).
Noto Mamiko saying "Itai~~~" thats new, or so I can recall, but this episode seemed way more linear than the previous two, I think I was expecting more in terms of unique storyline, this in the end boiled down to that chick is abusing her family's bloodline power to kill people cause she was angry, Shiki used her family bloodline power to stop her, and she loves the main guy and he doesn't know. Tragic right?
So I think she's going to reappear again in a future chapter but the next episode looks much more promising.

With Kanokon in mind, I can't help but think that Noto + rape = profit.

edit: so I got around to watching it, and I feel that Noto definitely needs more psycho in her resume.

Also Ruben, Fujino wasn't killing people because she was angry, rather the opposite I think in that she was happy (except for that poor schmo in the car, that was just wrong place wrong time).

Because her pain insensitivity is a side effect of her powers being blocked, Fujino obviously only kills people when/because she's in pain. Of course in Fujino's case, Noto didn't have to voice anything when she was being raped.

Also, Mirror Moon needs to translate the other 4 novels so I can know what's going to happen in the next movies. 5th movie to be aired in August. Dangit.

My love getting raped was not a highlight of the ep, although I did enjoy phycho-Noto.
They explained quite well why she was killing, she finally felt like she was alive after so long and wanted to feel more pain, she was happy to feel it in a way but the connection to why she wanted to kill people when she felt pain didn't seem to connect, the way I preceived it she would'a been happier if she had just twisted herself. From what I could gather she was killing these people because at first she was angry or scared of them then later she realized that she was enjoying it, but then again does not seem to correlate with why she would kill when she felt the pain. After she felt good when she killed people is when she killed the final two people.
Also, why do you want to read the novels so badly? I can understand if the anime was differing from the novels then it would be to understand the original story but from what it seems the movies are adapting from the original storylines almost perfectly, similar to Haruhi's case wouldn't it be just more interesting to wait and see the animated feature first?
Regardless of what we say though MirrorMoon is NOT going to have those translated before the movies come out, from what I've seen the translations for KnK has come to a halt, I don't think they care anymore.

Also, unlike you, I can derive similar levels of enjoyment from merely reading source material (hence why I read the Haruhi novels). I really don't care if you choose not to "spoil" things for yourself, but I can assure you that reading these things doesn't make the wait for an animated version any less worth it.

5th movie is going to be epic. I almost wish there weren't a 4th movie in the way.
