Cosplay Group

Yeah, that was a pretty generic title.

So for those of you who don't know me, I'm Anie *wave* I'm a terrible anime fan, I forget characters names and can't ever remember the names of series - I identify them by description usually. IE: that hot blond chick with a huge sword and the blood that made funny noises and sprayed everywhere. Okay, so that was Claymore, but it happens. On the other hand and to get to the point: I do only a couple things really well and making costumes is one of those (the others - bake chocolate chip cookies, and procrastinate).

I'm just sort of a closet cosplayer though, since I'm terribly shy actually wearing the stuff I make. So this is a post to see really if there are other costumers, cosplayers, or anyone in general who likes to cosplay, wants to make a group for a con, needs help with a costume or help in finding where to locate one. I don't know everything, so this is also going to be enlightening for when I'm stumped ^^!

Any ideas for the upcoming Saboten-con?

I cosplayed several times, I went as Ritsu (fruits basket) to last years comic con. Then last year in san diego and Saturday of this years comic con me and my duct-tape zabimaru walked around. so I like cosplaying. I would not mind helping out, because I want to do more.

Wow, duct tape is pretty hard core but I have seem some really awesome results. ^^ Any ideas for upcoming cosplays?

Tara and I are planning a group video game character Cosplay. She's going as Xiaoyu from Tekken and I'm going as Faust from Guilty Gear (mainly cuz it gives me an excuse to walk around with a paper bag on my head, lol!) The only rule we came up with is that each person invovled MUST be from a different fighting game. No two people from the same game. You interested?

what con was that planned for? I thought it was for the cactus comicon a few weeks ago but it wasn't...

Yeah, it was gonna be but we didn't manage to get the costume ready in time. I still don't know how I'm gonna get my Faust costume for Saboten con, if I even go. I really dunno at this point.

For Saboten all I have is Mako from Nerima Daikon ._. but I'm kitchen staff so I don't know that you'll see much of me.

Double post to revive, are there any plans for any of the upcoming cons or summer in general?

Chihiro - Spirited Away
SSBB - Sheik (Green)

I'm still wondering about Saboten-con. It's in Peoria, right? Kinda far...alright yeah, AX is in California, but that's a good distance away. If you go to AX, expect to stay there for that time. But for Peoria, which is closer, it might be a little tougher...meh, I'll see what my situation is as the date closes in.

Yeah I have my room and badge already for expo, which by the way if anyone is looking for a cheap hotel room, I have some double bookings. I have one room for $99 a night from 2-6th, its about a mile and a half from the con but its loads cheaper. We can discuss - otherwise I'll be canceling it at the end of the month.

Saboten should be fun, small, but a lot of local anime fans are sure to be present. It'd be great if we could go and support our local cons and help them grow.

I wish I could go, but I just learned that I'm going to be in Iowa that weekend for my cousin's high school graduation. So....sucks...
