Iowa man to face twenty years for possession of manga?

article here

Apparently this started when the man ordered seven books from Japan that the postal inspector deemed as "objectionable content", he picked up the package and was followed to his house by police. Whereupon they seized his entire collection of media.

So from what I understand most of the officers can't meet for the orginal wednesday meetings at 10 on wednesday.

So we either need to set up a different day and time or a thread on the board that the members can visit at their own time before the next meeting.

Thought I'd start this here and see what you guys had to say about it.

For those who are following it. For those who aren't, wiki/google "Saimoe 2008" or click here for the full tournament bracket.
Here's the line up

Yeah, so a few surprises, most prominent was how did R+V get a second season? Also, battle spirits... dear gosh I'm pretty sure I know what's getting a crappy dub at some point.

Anyways, not much that grabbed me for fall season. After Story is no question, but I otherwise only a handful of stuff have me curious. Mainly Linebarrel (pending I see what the mech looks like), Hyakko (school girls advancing through school is still a workable plot), and Tiara (I'm going ...

It might not of sucked so hard if they didn't force a seconed season out of it. they took a character who is soposed to be a geniuss and turn him into a fucking moron, he went from planning things to gease here and gease there and more gease everywhere. Ugghh im glad its all over and u should be too. Now to the fall season

THIS sucks. I'm probably one of the only people who thinks this way as well. For one how are they going to continue the story from where it left off after the movie, and even if they remake it to follow the manga, then wouldn't we have a 200 episode series that would be the same thing as the first season for the first 25ish episodes? I really don't wanna watch this but I feel inclined to cause I saw the first series.

I'm sure Blalex is ecstatic.

Blassreiter

So I hear this show got good... or least watchable from a gonzo standard, and there's been an invoking of the Itou Doctrine to watch it. Can anyone corroborate?

So I finally got around to reading this thing and quite enjoyed it (I'm still baaaawwwing!). From what I've been reading, it hits the main points of the VN in a ultra condensed way. Anyone else ever take a look and have any thoughts?

I know I mentioned how I was looking forward to this to Thahn, but has anyone else followed this series? Personally I think it's quickly becoming the best things Gonzo has done and maybe we could check it out next semester in club.

On the other hand Gonzo's rendition of Sky Girls called Strike Witches was so bad that I couldn't get through 5 minutes of it, any other opinions?

Let's get a new topic going. Technically, we are Japanese MEDIA Society, so I wanna hear some music suggestions here. I've got some stuff, but I wanna get some more opinions as to what's good from overseas.

Lately I've been listening to Rhymster and a lot of old stuff from Utada I found on my old computer at home. A lot of song titles from Rhymster are in japanese so i can't suggest many songs to look for [much less read them] but give Heat Island a try.

Okay, let's hear some suggestions...

I never thought I would be saying this, but GONZO has turned out something that's actually funny in the way that it was intended to be. The intentional cheesiness and parodying of RPGs/fantasy themes had me laughing hard almost the entire time (especially during the tentacle rape scene). I don't know how long it'll last, though, given GONZO's penchant for trainwrecking series.

Also, making good on their promise, GONZO subbed it and posted it on Youtube/Crunchyroll! Seriously, go watch it ...
