Himegami no Miko
So, apparently there's this rumor going abouts that there's going to be a successor to Kannazuki no Miko. For those of you who are unaware with this series, it's known for a certain something.
Now I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I feel this compulsion to watch. On the other, I can not help but feel like a person who knows that an unimaginable pain is about to be inflicted on him and there's nothing he can do about it. To quote Jason Miao on KnM, "On many levels, this series was unwatchable. On the other hand, I kept watching." This doesn't apply to its first successor, Kyoshiro no Towa no Sora, which was unwatchable on every level, except that one scene.
Basically from Kyoshiro, I figured out what would help make this new one watchable (note, that doesn't mean enjoyable) for me:
1. MOAR YURI (DUH!!!!)
2. The yuri must be the main focus of the story
3. More Mechs (and better quality animation in the fights). Though, I'm fine with less mechs if there's more yuri!
4. Ayako Kawasumi and Noriko Shitaya as the respective successors of Chikane and Himiko.
5. MOAR YURI!!!!
6. YFR
Closing thoughts: I'm actually kinda liking the character designs, but I couldn't help but think from one of the previews, "Is that Lelouch?"

Re: Himegami no Miko
KnM was initially "wow so this is a pretty good yuri series" and then suddenly: Mecha. It then proceeded to stay uneventful for about 7-8 episodes before YFR happens, which was just enough to get me through the final stretch. I was more surprised that they managed to get a full cour out of just two manga volumes and minimal content... Even then, the best part of KnM apart from the YFR and awesome yuri development was the OP/ED. Re-Sublimity and Agony are among Kotoko's best songs IMO (not that that's saying much since after listening to her stuff for a while all of her songs start to sound the same).
And man, don't even get me started on Kyoshiro... I could rip into that series as easily as Kuu's shirt...
Just like that.

Ah yes the manga, I remember reading that. It was... odd and in this occasion I think I prefer the deviations in the anime (at least Souma did something other than get eaten and the girls don't spend the rest of their lives living in a shack on the moon). 'Course I wasn't expecting YFR at the end of the first volume (at the time I didn't realize it was only 2 volumes).
