Baka to Test to Shokanju: Reality is Harsh
Advanced placement into a school of higher grade proof-reading is determined by the results of the Promotion Test strictly for class type. Ranging from A class with the best facilities anyone can offer all the way down to F Class which is composed of low dining tables, rotten tatami mats and other worn out facilities. Students can change classes by competing using the Examination Summons Battle system or ESB. Students summon characters with their equivalent test mark scores and use them to compete with other classes.

I only watched this because it was referenced in Seitokai no Ichizon. I must say, it was a fun watch. Productions were good, jokes were good, and the battles were not terrible and amusing. Overall, good times to be had.

... that was uhhh... interesting. It's like it's a shounen series where the special powers come from being able to take tests.
The premise was just so ridiculous but the production was quite nice. I'll probably keep watching.
I kinda wish ASU had an ESB system, but then again, I'd probably ditch classes to play more GG either way.

RIDICULOUS, That's the only word to describe this series RIDICULOUS.
Good animation quality I was impressed, whereas other studios are just cutting down SHAFT is still going strong in their visual quality.
I really did enjoy this show in a wtf omg lol kind of way also I enjoyed the subtle Zetsubou Shita! from the classmate.
As for the other SHAFT Show, Vampire Bund, I enjoyed that in a "I'm liking where this plot is going" kind of way and I thought the first episode was an interesting foray into the series.
This season is doing a complete 180 from what I expected from it a month ago, good stuff is coming, even if it's few.

SHAFT isn't producing this, SILVER LINK is (though I think they grabbed a bunch of people from SHAFT).
As for me, my favorite moments are the scenes involving Nishimura/Ironman.

Heh, you're right, it's just SHAFT people in another studio. Explains the art style.

I was kinda hoping that the trap's sister would be a reverse trap like in Maria+Holic. Oh well, there's still time for that development.
Also, the main guy's ability to feel the pain of his avatar is really just a convenient excuse to make this show more like Yugioh.

Re: Baka to Test to Shokanju: Reality is Harsh
So episode 2 was pretty funny, especially at the end.
I decided to take a look at the novels and manga a bit to make a comparison and I can see the nature of some of the complaints out there. A lot of the more funnier scenes are gone (unless they fight class D, but given that they absorbed some class D jokes into ep 2 I think that's a fight that's gone) and the other kids from class F are pretty much underutilized at the moment in favor of the main characters, which is kind of disappointing (as it is now, they get trampled while in the novels they could actually hold down class D).
That is not to say I despise the show or anything for straying, it's just taking an original path (probably rightly so since the source material is continuing) and is being amusing in its own way. Could be better though.

Episode 2 showed off the mannerisms that this director uses and I never get bored of it, the random visual and audible quirks that he uses to lighten the mood are definitely one of the reasons I am really enjoying this show at the moment. Also the material itself is enjoyable, lol mini-harem.

Man, I don't even know where to begin with ep 3. This episode was just so hilarious, especially the movies (and the resulting tasings) and the additional harem member (which really got me cracking at the post credits). My only gripe was Himeji's rather active breasts this episode, but that's a minor issue.

Overactive breasts are not a problem at all, but yeah I agree with ya this episode was hilarious. I think my favorite part was "I could feed myself indefinitely (sic), I must be the Einstein of the 21st century!"

"Nobody suspects the Spanish Inquisition"
Okay, so ep 4 was pretty fun. That said, I prefer how the manga handled the matter of Himeji's culinary skills. I did, however, enjoy the fma reference.
Seriously though, lets move it back to the summon battles.

I don't remember, was there a plot to this show? Mind you, that doesn't represent dissatisfaction with the show or anything, rather six was hilarious.

Hideyoshi Changing room and bath is just too funny, other than that this episode was kinda bland in comparison to the others imo, it seems after the first few eps they deviated from the plot pretty hard but eps 4 and 5 were great anyways so I didn't care anyways. Also enjoyed the "Did you call me flat 3 times fast?" spectacular dialogue imo.

Suzuki wa bedo de....
Any and all qualms I may have developed with this show over the past couple of episodes have been eliminated, this episode was probably my favorite one thus far.
Honestly I dunno how the director or writer or whoever comes up with the constant awesome that went on during this episode, but what I really enjoyed like always was the SHAFT-like asides they use during conversations such as the mail to and fro Minami when Himeji was getting mad at Akihisa. There was seriously not a single dull moment for me in this episode, I really enjoyed their rendition of the haunted house, I really didn't see that coming until they heard that false sentence from Yuuji's voice come from the speaker and then the random weapon selection fell from the ceiling lololololololololololol.
I get the feeling that the animation they did on Kirishima during her "I don't think my feelings are misplaced" line could make a catchy sig graphic, speaking of which I'm really curious about her and Yuuji's past now that they've revealed "some other guy" that has to do with her relation with Yuuji.
Oh yeah and new ED already? wuhhht?
P.S. Starcraft 2 Beta came out, it's awesome. I have a key but I'm not sure if you're able to play without one or not...

Re: Baka to Test to Shokanju: Reality is Harsh
I won't say I didn't enjoy this episode, because I was amused. The closing with Shouko and Yuuji was also rather well animated, hope they didn't blow their budget on that last like 5 minutes. That said, I kind of wondered what the point of the episode was. I mean, we already know Shouko's yandere for Yuuji and this episode just barely gave us any background insight.
I was rather put off by the second couple, but otherwise they got the ball moving for the end so...
New ED, I could have gone without seeing the principal in a sailor uniform.

Re: Baka to Test to Shokanju: Reality is Harsh
Yeah the couple did get the ball rolling for the ending more or less, but regardless there was a change in Yuuji's perspective of Kirishima during the wedding scene itself. I suppose as far as what was accomplished during the episode, it wasn't that Kirishima's Yandere-ness was anything new but the fact that everything after the wedding scene kinda brought them closer and more understanding of each other. My real issue is that due to the way they do comedy in this show; in order to produce more comedic relief I feel like they're going to ignore this character development in order to keep the show on track with how it's been thus far. Anyways, I'm hoping for the best.

Episode 9 was so..... great, amazing, hilarious and spectacular. I'm glad this show keeps up the strong points even after some some slow episodes.
Also since we don't have a Dance in the Vampire bund thread I'll just post this funny article link here

I've lost my will to watch baka test. Not because it's bad or anything, I just don't really want to watch it anymore for some reason.
So FUNimation decided it'd rather go through a PR hit with its customers and consumers as opposed to having potential problems with a third party that in all probability won't do much besides complain. Not exactly a moment of brilliance for the industry.

Re: Baka to Test to Shokanju: Reality is Harsh
Oh they're warring again, will to watch re-established.
A good episode, and pretty smooth one too. Nothing was bogged down by overly long explanations and they managed to balance humor with action. I felt they could've used some of the jokes that were present in the manga, but beggars can't be choosers and there's no significant alterations so it's not like I'm complaining, plus I suppose the jokes might be too touchy for the show (Yoshi trying to murder Yuuji).
I guess with 12 episodes, I can understand Silver Link's plot shuffle of the show for a finisher, hopefully it'll come out alright.

2 ESB's in one episode?!?! Well I guess it had to happen eventually. I think they should have shortened the stuff in eps 3-5 to make room for this material they're rushing in the last 3 eps (or maybe they're not rushing?), also there's 13 eps not 12.

13 it is, I'm just so used to watching things as 12 or 24 I assumed it's one or the other without doing the research.
But an extra three eps for development might have been beneficial, they had to cut some things to squeeze fit both the battles, but they at least covered the critical parts or covered them in previous episodes (at least the writers are paying attention). Then again, I think I'd rather have condensed events with brief explanations rather than an entire episode devoted to exposition.
