High School of the Dead

I have a really hard time putting up any thoughts for this show after I watch it. It's just running from zombies and killing zombies, and panic, and fanservice. But yeah I forgot they separated from that fag teacher, yay. Actually I forgot a LOT about the manga, which is good cause now it's all like almost new to me. Of course I don't really remember where I stopped in that regard.

Episode 6... yeah... back to zombie killing next week.

Scenes played out as expected, though the part with the screaming woman was pretty badly done compared to the manga (basically scream about two sentences then bite, compared to lets talk for 20 seconds while the other zombies don't do anything).

There's also Zeke and how the zombies don't go after him for some reason (the zombies do try to nab him a couple of times, though it doesn't work), but that's really a minor detail.

But hey, they kept Saeko's apron.

For a while there, I thought the zombies were attracted to noise, but then that screaming woman right in the middle of a huge pack of them didn't attract them at all. Neither did that barking dog. =/

Yeah that was kinda odd wasn't it..... I thought that dog was gonna be dead really early into the ep

Can bulldozers actually move as fast as being depicted with speed lines?

If it's from a zombie's perspective, I suppose anything would move really fast.

I think this show is actually prety strong so far i actually like the op

They probably "upgraded" their dozers to have more power than they could ever need before the outbreak.

The fan service still creates mood-whiplash for me, but that is just a minor complaint.

That's the price of having an author who draws H mangos/doujins as his night job.

For some strange reason the fanservice seems to flow really well with the zombie survival theme from my point of view. Maybe it's because they actually have sexual parts of zombie survival movies and it kinda feels like it's just the other side of the genre now. Like, people are surviving a zombie outbreak, and they get to some safe place and have sex because they're the last dude and chick in the world who aren't zombies or something like that. This does not apply to I Am Legend.

plus it would be really awkward if will smith had sex with his dog ruben you perv, and i am legend is sopose to be about vampires but they were more like zombies in the movie

Does anyone remember if the dog contributes to anything in the manga, I'm too lazy to check?

The transition from manga to show was not that great, though pretty good. If they'd speed up the zombies a little then the scene would've played to more sense, but, even with an injured party member, they should've been able to get over the fence no problem considering the snail like pace.

Saeko's bullet dodge was also particularly mind jarring, so I'll try to push that into the back of my mind.

Well the show is doing a chapter shuffle, not that I mind since it's the Saeko chapter.

"If you look closely, you can see a bullet dodging some breasts" and "nice graze bonus for Saeko" were the best comments I've ever read.

I had to seriously go back and look at the chapter because I couldn't remember if that line was actually in there or if they just made it up (fyi, it is).

Even though the implied kiss was original, as a TakashiXSaeko supporter I heartily approve.

My main gripe was when Takashi was reassuring her by going behind her and groping her. I couldn't help but laugh at that entire part because he ran her to do that. In comparison, he was besides/behind her in the manga so it wasn't quite as hilarious (mind you he still groped her though).

Well I didn't need three guesses to figure out who voices Takagi's dad as soon as he opened his mouth.

Also, I liked how Takagi was talking about the difficulties of electricity and water while there's a functioning fountain at her place.

Otherwise, a relatively tame episode in comparison.

Since I stopped reading the manga, MANY episodes ago, I'm not sure where it's at atm but all I know is....
There's only 2 episodes left and they're still far from any ending that doesn't include everyone dying, but I know that's not going to happen.
I'm kinda assuming they'll just do an immediate second season or something, maybe in winter season.

Well one left, is MH going for an original ending or are they budgeting for a second season, though at least from the previews it doesn't appear to be bombs fall, everyone dies.

I'm hoping for a second season as much as I was hoping that the entire second half of episode 11 was just going to be a sex scene, implied or otherwise.
At least the distrust towards the teacher has been confirmed by everyone, I like it when everyone understands each other.

If I hadn't read the manga, I wouldn't have been shocked considering the author's night job.
