Fate: Unlimited Blade Works movie

Speculation is that it'll be UBW, so I suppose Shirou (and Lancer) will be getting an upgrade. It is UBW.

Re: Fate: Unlimited Blade Works movie
That looked like a montage of the series with a couple of extra scenes, is this just a recap of the series in movie format?

IIRC, UBW doesn't divert from SN until after Rider dies, though I never did play Fate.

For some reason, Thanh, I can only see your bbcode if I hit the "reply" or "preview post" buttons. Otherwise I just get a ton of not-working html.
Anyways, FSN is lulz so I'm not exactly hyped for it. I figure as long as they steer clear of the cg dragons it'll be ok.

The new trailer makes it look less like a series re-cap and more like an actual new storyline, yay.

Weird. Anyways, they'll have budget now so maybe it'll be a drawn dragon instead.
edit: I changed it to a bbcode (it was actually a html code). How is it now?

Works, so I guess you weren't using bbcode to begin with. That explains a lot.

I'm actually looking forward to this quite a bit too, more than I previously thought I would. I'm hoping that it does well/has already done well.

From what I hear, the movie didn't do well in explaining the plot so the casual viewer was confused. Those that do know what's going on though were able to sit back and enjoy an hour and a half (or so) of awesome fights.

That's perfectly fine with me. In my opinion, Heaven's Feel was the best in terms of story, but UBW had the most epic fights! Including the Archer vs Lancer rematch!

In fact, let it be known now that if the fights are as awesome as I hope that they're gonna be, and the movie actually comes to the states, I'll invest in a blu-ray player JUST for that movie!

Re: Fate: Unlimited Blade Works movie
So I'm under the impression that they only made this movie exclusively for existing FSN fans, because if I didn't already know the story, I wouldn't have understood anything that happened in this movie. It was like they just jumped from fight to fight without any real transitioning so it was kinda off-putting, even though I never thought FSN had a good story to begin with. At least the action was ok, but they shoulda just called it by its real name: Free money for glowsticks and condoms.
Overall, the whole thing felt rushed and kinda soulless.

Re: Fate: Unlimited Blade Works movie
Condensed doesn't even begin to describe the plot, and lack of proper any transitions can leave the odd person who showed up to the movie without knowing the plot dumbstruck. This is somewhat forgivable considering the time limitation and the length of material. So the assumption should be this is a film for FSN fans so they can fill in the plot rather than the passing viewer.
Action was very good, though at times it did sink to Basara territory where it seemed the movie needed to fund itself by cannibalizing itself, and by that I mean the characters basically turned into geometric shapes.
Well at least Lancer got his moment and thesex prana replenishment CG seemed... appropriate this time around.

This movie WAS made for me!!!
But I completely agree, with the terrible transitions and the rushing of the story, if you know nothing about the story in detail then the chances of really enjoying the movie are slim. The one complaint I have other than that was the fight I was looking forward to the most was rushed too! I spent the entire movie bracing myself for the Archer vs. Lancer rematch, hoping it'd be as epic as it was when I read it, but it was the shortest fight in the movie. Rider lasted longer in the movie than that fight did.
But I was surprised how well the other fights looked in the movie, pleasantly surprised!

Well that was a fun watch, but I don't remember F/SN having THAT many plot holes.....
