I don't think water works like that.
Definitely had to take that with a grain of salt.

And once again Noto takes a role in which she dies in 1 ep.
Orly? I guess it's time for me to watch one more episode of this show and just not care about what's going on.

Can either of these shows do an entire tournament in 3 episodes?
Aria 9: A wild plot as appeared! What do you do?
As if this show wasn't generic enough, turns out Akari is exactly what we had hoped she wasn't, to shy from tropes.

Doki got Rakudai out earlier than usual, so yeah. Anyways, if that show wants to ignore plot for that kind of an episode, I'm ok with it.

What the hell asterisk!? The big moment looked extremely off model!
End:
Granted it's kind of premature to write this, but Asterisk has another season whereas Cavalry does not.
But of the two, I ended up liking Cavalry more. With the exact same basis and characters, cavalry just overall felt better with the execution of its ideas, plots, and characters. Also, their fights were better.

I feel like getting girls to sleep with you is hard enough, but this guy can have them be ok with being sliced up on their backs? What an art. Also his collection hobby needs some excitement.

35: End
Rushed doesn't even begin to describe the show, but meh they covered the main stuff until it just broke apart at the end. Whatever, I was mildly entertained so 6/10.
Bones: End
I don't think a prologue was the best way to end the series, especially when there was a plot to be had.
But basically jettison the middle, and the show was good. Solid production values and a not bad mystery when they had mysteries. 7/10.

Time for some overdue posts, as I spent Christmas day literally watching about 9 hours of anime. I'm not exaggerating.
Fire Girls:
Rakudai really never gripped me because I never really cared for any of the characters much, and placed more emphasis on cliches and re-hashed character stories that I didn't need to see. I will give it one thing though, is that I really appreciate how straightforward they made Kurogane and Stella's relationship pan out. They didn't cop out of kiss scenes and their bond helped Kurogane get through his little tribulation at the end. I do want to see how the Seven Stars tournament pans out, so I kinda wish we could have this one keep going like Asterisk, but if they were going to throw those fights to the wayside like they did with this final fight (grrrrrrrr, I was waiting for that last fight to be the most badass fight) then I guess we're not missing anything.
Asterisk, I had already given up on after the first episode like Rakudai as being just another ecchi action magic show which has been plaguing us all year, but I actually came to really enjoy this show as it progressed more and more. Julis/Ayato aren't really any better than Stella/Kurogane, but the side characters in this show were fantastic, and I appreciate that they focused more on the rivalry or war as it may, rather than the individuals stories that don't really matter in the long run in a show that's clearly trying to achieve a different overarching plot. A big plus is A-1 studios really has been putting forth some good consistent animation quality recently, and this was no exception. I'm really glad that this show is continuing, and at the moment it might actually even have made top 5 of the season for me, but I haven't thought it through yet. One last note, the top ranked girl in both shows was named Toudou.
35: I had put this show above Rakudai for most of the season, but it actually fell below it by the end. This show basically created an irritation list for me and added to it as it progressed. It started with the body armor mode thing in episode 2, then it had literally every character talk about carrying half burdens or whatnot, then went on to doing character arcs rather than pacing itself properly through what the first episode teased us with, lastly put the icing on the cake with another imouto character that's onii-complexed, with an extremely lame power and circumstance surrounding her, not to mention the end seemed hasty as hell. I really couldn't care less to see more of this show, and I hope Silver Link doesn't bother with it in the future.
Sakurako: This show was a good baseline of what I considered "great" this season, it started and ended on the same level of "goodness" to me, aside from that episode about his grandmother which was one of the stupidest episodes I've seen in awhile....but I won't get into it now. Troyca definitely started strong with their first independent production, and I'm hopeful, and looking forward to the rest of the show which they're clearly hinting at.
