Winter 2016

Post  Tekkaman Calamity on Thu Dec 24, 2015 1:51 pm

Another year, another avalanche.

Continuation:
AssClass2: Sure, why not.
Gate2: Eh, it's something to talk about.
Koyomimonogatari

New:
Prince of Stride Alternative: This so does not sound like something I want to watch, but the staffing compels me to.
Musaigen no Phantom World: No effing duh
Haruchika: So... an edgy hibike?
Active Raid: I'm always down for cheesy super hero shows.
Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu: Minatosoft desperately tries to find their next majikoi. Will it work this time?
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: No snippy remarks. The premise has my interest.
PSO2: The amount of fail potential compels me to watch!
Dagashi Kashi: dem eyes
Luck and Logic: I'm still riding high from the nozaki train!
Grimgar: Not 1, but 2 fantasy insert shows! At least this one is a game.
Schwarzesmarken: Ya, more Muff-lufff baby!
Ao no Kanata: Oh man, it's a serious effort by Gonzo.
Ajin: curious
Rainbow Days: My favored romcom
Dimension W: potential

Maybe:
Oshiete! Galko-chan: I see bunch of porn for this, so I'm kinda curious why it's popular.
Sekkou Boys: wat?
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle: You never know, maybe it's that 1% gacha draw where the show is actually not bad.

14 pickups, with another 3 possibles and 3 carryovers for a total of 20. Packed season is packed.

Re: Winter 2016

Post  Chumara on Fri Dec 25, 2015 10:09 pm

This is a placeholder for now because............

HASHIHIME IS FUCKING GONE.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE.
ANICHART DOESN'T TELL ME ENOUGH

So yeah, I'm not sure what I'm interested in yet.

Ok, here's my half-assed run-down, because I'm out of time:

New Stuff

Active Raid: Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hakkei: Everything says no, but my lack of knowledge and information says give it couple of eps.

Ajin: Something about the price of immortality, ok.

Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm: Let's see if Gonzo can make something above 480p resolution finally.

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: A-1 Studios + a sad plot = most likely a win.

Dagashi Kashi: The picture looks like a slice of life so I'll check it out.

Dimension W: The stupidity of the brief synopsis makes me wanna check it out a bit.

Divine Gate: SECOND SEASON OF GATE WO- oh wait...... what's this? OH............. SECOND SEASON OF GATE WOOOOOOO

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: A-1 Pictures + the promo picture looks like they ripped off Valkyria Chronicles, I'm in.

Haruchika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru: Unknown to bad anime, nor known to Shounen; Have withstood criticism to create many shows; Yet, those haters will never know quality; So I pray, PA WORKS!

Koukaku no Pandora: Robot Meido?

Luck and Logic: I'm already confused from the synopsis.

Musaigen no Phantom World: Still don't have enough money for more FMP yet Kyoto?

Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R: I think the description made my nose bleed.

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 ANIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut: Depending on how gender-bending this gets, I might drop it, but the synopsis alone made me laugh so I'll give it a shot. Plus it's Lerche.

Schwarzesmarken: I feel like LIDENFILMS has just been like "We want to make all of these ideas we have but we've been too busy making all this pointless Miss Monochrome"

Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu: Romance show of the season?

Sequels and Continuations

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime 2: I enjoyed this show, so this is nice.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: I didn't like where this show went from its halfway point till the end, so let's see how it chooses to continue.

Durarara!!x2 Ketsu: This will most likely be the last DRRR for quite some time.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri 2: Time to go make some Pina Coladas in preparation.

Leftovers

Haikyuu 2: I literally just watched 10 episodes of training camp this last season, so at least they'll get to some good stuff now.

Heavy Object: I'm really liking this show a lot.

Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen: I'm actually impressed at how big the cast is at this point, but I hope they actually start something soon because this is kinda boring.

Ace of Diamond: Never-ending baseball

All together, 25 shows, but I'm seeing a lot of drop potential. I can usually make better judgements with the usual source, but I'm going in blind this time. One thing to note is studio DEEN is somehow releasing like 3 shows this season, and I can't imagine where that money came from, but I'm steering clear from them for now.

I hope Dark Falz shows up and crushes the school that they all go to, so they can be recruited by Arks in real life and not have us watch them play the game on their computers after school.

Honestly I'm just hoping for anything entertaining.

Do they have the money for Hana Kana on Lisa?

WILL THEY REFERENCE B20?!?!?

I WANT THIS SHOW TO AIR

Worse than I expected. In danger of drop from me.

Considering this is based on an otomege, yes, yes it could.

Dagashi Kashi 1

Finally, Ayana casts in a show that doesn't suck.

Grimgar 1

Needs more game, but otherwise alright.

W 1:

If this is an action show, then it's a pretty decent one.

Re: Winter 2016

Post  Chumara on Sun Jan 10, 2016 4:46 pm

Ok, still trying to catch up, but let's see where I'm at, and maybe we can compare:

Boku Dake: I really liked the first episode, but I think the show takes place when he was a kid for the most part, so it might get harder for me to enjoy it as much from now on, but I think it'll still be at least decent.

Dagashi Kashi: Aside from the character designs looking really angry or depressed all the time, it wasn't bad. Will continue for sure.

Dimension W: Much better than I was expecting, but who are these studios? Didn't know it was the creator of Darker Than Black, so that's a plus. Probably something I would've been aware of had HASHIHIME'S BLOG NOT DIED.

Divine Gate: I hope this show knows what thin ice is because it's standing on it. Definitely the worst show so far.

Gate2: Still strong, but this episode was pretty dark and adult-y-ier than I was expecting this show to get.

Haruchika: I wasn't sure what to think of this show before going into it, but I do love PA Works, and I think it's decent so far. It feels like they merged Hyouka and Hibike into a show, but I do like the main character a LOT and I think it's funny how the dude is gay for the teacher. Definitely sticking with this as well.

Koukaku no Pandora: Probably my second/third favorite new show, I was laughing and enjoying every minute of this show. Is this the Chobits I never saw?

Luck and Logic: If this show didn't feature magical girls, I'd probably have it on the chopping block, but we'll keep going for now.

Phantom World: Hands down the best thing yet, and of course, it's Kyoto's magic again. I also loved every minute of this show, and danced along with the Limbo music. Izumi would've been cast by Noto Mamiko had she not been a main character.

Oshiete Gyaruko: The first line of this show pissed me off, but not because of the show itself. Also, why was this show made? Who's idea was it? It's really fucking weird. I'll keep with it for mai irl waifu.

PSO2: The in-game cg wasn't bad, and the premise is WIXOSS levels of silly-funny, also Rare Drop Koi Koi ending was gdlk, glad to see they're pandering to their player base really hard, because that's all this can have going for it. But why start the show with TD1/2 enemies? Whatever they do though, I love it, it's PSO2.

Pretty good start to the season, still have a lot more to get through today.

Yeah this was kinda weird, but I guess the concept of the gunslash is attractive to anime fans, but plot-wise, if I was a hardcore PSO2 player trying to get another person to go hardcore, I would just have them shy away from it.

Well Matt, you weren't joking when you said that Active Raid throws a lot of stuff at you from the start, but it was definitely better than Divine Gate and I liked the upbeat music that played through basically the entire episode.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: It's like a really laid back SAO/Log Horizon/Overload, and I begrudgingly like it.

I guess shock value is still a valid angle of approach for a first episode, but I can't actually figure out just how much of real history they're trying to employ here.

Aokana 1: So I really liked this show, and I never would have guessed that Kurashina was voiced by Misato Fukuen. Good job Gonzo, keep going strong.

Well there was a Stasi. And a East Germany.

So I'm hooked on Bokumachi with 2. I think it'll be a solid show. It's finally something that might fill the void that Steins;Gate left.

History is literally my worst subject and always has been, as you know based on our 300 experience, therefore I dunno what a Stasi is.

I'm hoping to catch up with a lot today, so I'm looking forward to Bokumachi 2

Divine Gate: Yeah, I can't go on, the characters are all awful and they resorted to cg on the fight when it really wasn't necessary, also whatever plot is trying to happen I don't care about because the main guy is so incredibly hard to watch.

The Stasi was the east german secret police.

As for divine gate, yeah same. Luck and logic is its direct competitor and that's way better.

At this point I don't care what bullshit plot they bring about to make more actual PSO2 gameplay happen. Ai-ai is funny though, but is she RPing, or actually a PSO2 character in the real world? THE PLOT THICKENS........ but not fast enough.
And yeah they needed to show the entire Kuna concert because it was probably the best part of that episode.
