Personally, I felt pretty aroused when he was killing Rip. Overall, it seemed pretty slow, but I guess this way it does leave more time for London in ep 5 this way.

Yeah, Rip Van Winkle's death was.........yeah......overdone, in my opinion. It was taking so long that it started making me a bit uncomfortable. It was like the anime went from Hellsing awesomeness to a snuff film....as for the speech at the end, again I say it was drawn out. But Thanh does have a point that it leaves a huge opening for all the hell-raising in London in OVA 5.

Well if you felt this was drawn out wait till Seras has her battle...then again that one isn't so one-sided as Alucard vs...well anyone.

I will miss Rip Van Winkle's lovely German songs. That speech at the end was just a bit on the long side, maybe longer than Winkle's dying scene.

I changed the name of this thread since we really should have had a Hellsing Ultimate thread years ago.
Anyways, hard to believe this show started in February of 2006, this makes it the longest time-span covered of any show I've seen from beginning to end. The real problem is that with episodes coming out 6+ months between each other it's really hard to keep track of what's going on, luckily I don't care enough about the details so I just keep watching assuming that Alucard just ended up killing anyone who's not around anymore.
I have to say I enjoyed it overall based purely on the fact that I remember enjoying the movies as I watched them even though I can't remember what happened.
But yeah, it kinda tugs at your feelings a bit knowing that something that you've stuck with for so long has finally ended. Hell, apparently I was on episode 3 already when I made my anime list and that was so long ago I can't even remember creating it. Actually, if it came out Feb of '06 that means I was in my first apartment of my first year of college, dyaaaaaummmmnnnn.

Lastly I wanna say that my folder with these movies in it is the most fucked up folder I have of anime right now, I've got a different sub group for just about every episode and only a few of them managed to stay in consecutive order, finding subs for these while they were coming out was not easy in the past I guess..........
