Phoenix Comicon changes name over fears of lawsuit
The Phoenix Comicon just changed it's name to Phoenix Comic Fest.
The reason behind this was in December, San Diego Comic Convention sued the Salt Lake Comic Con over the Comic Con name and was awarded $20,000. I don't know about you but that's kinda shity of San Diego Comic Convention...

Wow, someone posted here.
And wow, that's pretty crazy, I didn't hear about this and I used to work for them! Lol.
Thanks for the heads up.

The only reason I found out about this, was the public access court case website.
This was also in the case, A federal jury has ruled Salt Lake Comic Con organizers violated trademark law when they improperly used the words "comic con."
I thought this was fake at first but I looked into it more and found a lot of crappy shit San Diego Comic Con been doing.
Re: Phoenix Comicon changes name over fears of lawsuit
People these days will sue over the dumbest things. Honestly I feel like SDCC was just grasping at straws. What about the dozens of other "comic-con" events in the rest of the country? I get they're trying to assert their #1 comic convention ego, but you don't see Anime Expo doing shit like that.
