What was your first anime?

So, what was the first anime you ever saw?

Mine was Sailor Moon when I was visiting my dad in Japan. I was like 5 I think, and I asked him what it was, and he told me, in a japanese accent " sailor moon" but it came out " sara moon' so I thought it was Sara Moon for the longest time. It was the episode with the airplanes from the first season.

Cowboy Bebop, in english... wasn't too bad looking back on it.

My Neighbor Totoro, or Doraemon. I don't remember which. What I do remember is reading Chinese Doraemon manga (which I still have lol) and watching a Chinese subtitled My Neighbor Totoro with my mom translating for me as a little kid - probably around 5-6 years old.

So nostalgic! I had the Tonari No Totoro VHS when I was little too, I watched it till I wore it out. I watched Doraemon in Japan too, but it didn't really catch my attention. That pounch was weird, he just kept pulling stuff out. But if we're going by those kids shows from Japan, then technically my first anime was Anpanman! I still love that show.

Doraemon's pouch is a never-ending bag of plot devices.

Gotta be Sailor Moon. I used to make fun of my sister for watching a girly show when I was little, cuz I was just being a bratty older brother. Little did I know I would watch it when I got older. What can I say? I'm a sap for love stories. No shame in admitting that.

Tenchi Muyo. I'm serious.

Crest of the Stars... first and still the best.

Fatal Fury The Motion Picture. I don't remember how long ago exactly, but that's where my ma saw Mai Shiranui for the first time and proceded to ask, "Why isn't she wearing any pants?!"

That and Tenchi Universe, it was all on the same day at my cousin's house.

Speed Racer was the first anime I ever laid my eyes on but I couldnt follow plot elements and stuff cuz I was too little. Heheh.

My first anime? it has to be Sailor Moon dub when i was in the fourth grade (1994-1995), back in the day when it's still their dubbing dark ages and i never heard for cartoon network. But my real taste of anime is when i was 11 (1996) on a plane to Taipei, it's was subtitled Doraemon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doraemon). It was so cute and funny! Afterwards, I said (in rabid kitty mode) "I want more!".

Probably Sailor moon (Dubbed). If you meant the first subbed anime, then I would not know.

I was going to say DBZ but I remember watching some episodes of Ronin warriors before that.

well if movies count then it was Mononoke Hime . . . my dad just sorta randomly brought it home from blockbuster and we all loved it. . .as far as actual anime tho . . .i think(not too sure) it was Naruto but it could have also been Fullmetal Alchemist since my memory is a bit fuzzy(i watched them around the same time.

It would have to be like Doraemon, or Detective Conan, Crayon Shinchan, or even Pokemon.
Hell even throw Digimon in there. All those old shows oriented towards kids. Plus the occasional Lupin the 3rd.
I can't exactly say which one I saw first but just based off of memory these were the shows I remember watching parts of.

Speed Racer for me. Then Gundam... I didn't see Sailor Moon till I was well into junior high. ^^;;
