I was wondering, for someone who is practically an anime neophyte, what are some good anime shows to start with? I've seen Death Note, Sailor Moon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Beebop, etc. thus far.

FMP is a solid choice.

Movie wise, KnK is a must watch (prepare to set aside several hours of your life).

You can go through this section to see if any shows stick out for ya based on the descriptions.
