Re: Music
To Chumara,
Thank you so much. I found "Resonance" on souleaterfan.com if anyone else wants the full version to the beginning song.

Re: Music
Well since someone mentioned music and alternative forms of Japanese media in club...
I figured it'd probably be a lot easier to do this sort of thing online, since it does save a lot of hassle.
Also, there's too many songs I enjoy for me to consider having a favorite. I'll post some songs later.

Re: Music
Most J-music I listen to consists of I've Sound stuff (which really encompasses a ton of stuff), various doujin covers, and game OSTs (I'm looking at you GG and BB).
Btw, just want to throw this out, but Japanese non-animated PVs...suck suck HARD.

I agree on Shissou 100%, but I also liked the Mata Ashita Remix just becuase it was up beat and fun; once I listened to the remix, I got bored with the original. o-o Have you hear the Shissou version where Vic sings it? XD I also like Obsession by See-Saw, the .Hack//Sign OP. Hmmm, Tamaki Nami is a fave of mine just because it's more upbeat, my favorite song has to be My Way. UVERworld is another favorite with a fave song called Colors of the Heart. Any songs that are up beat I'll usually like. Like Rage Beat from Gravitation. XD Oh, Michiyuki from Loveless is a must. o-o I'm also a big Yuki Kajiura fan. >> I just found out that Yuki actually made a song for Pandora Hearts which I actually enjoyed. XD
If I had to name some more favorites I'd say Sakanoue Yosuke who sings Super Drive from Gravitation, Utada Hikaru (>>), and L`Arc~en~Ciel. Does anybody know who sings, Toki no Ito? Whoever it is, I love that song to. XD Yeah, I have a lot of people and songs I love, but we'll stop here. >>

Re: Music
Random plug for old Kotoko stuff: Suppuration Core and Uzu-Maki. Also, because nobody mentioned it yet, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari is probably the best song this summer.
As far as composers go, I like Yuki Kajiura's works (most recent memory being in Kara no Kyoukai), but I have to say the top dog is still Daisuke Ishiwatari. Also, Jun Maeda, for all of his Key stuff.

Re: Music
That's interesting. . . . I've never heard of Daisuke Ishiwatari. o-o I listened to a few tracks after reading your reply. I have to agree, I love it. XD It's the composer for the songs in the anime BlazeBlue, right?
Re: Music
Daisuke Ishiwatari is the lead composer for Arc System Works, who produce fighting games like BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. I'd recommend Lust SIN, Gale, and Imperial Code the most out of the BlazBlue OST but that's just me. The whole OST is pretty much amazing.

Re: Music
I wish there was a Blazblue anime but no it's just for the games like Ryuuka said. Also if you like any of Mell's or Kawada Mami's OP or ED's for animes you should check out their albums too. I'm just waiting for Elisa to come out with an album she's becoming one of my favorites.

Re: Music
Ah, my bad. There's a lot of things I've never heard of. So if I get something wrong, please excuse the noob.
Re: Music
Always been a fan of KOTOKO.
But really my favorite has got to be ORANGE RANGE. Locolotion
Quite frankly I don't listen to a lot of music from Japan but a couple others I do listen to are Morning Musume and Nana Kitade. Onna ni Sachi Are Kanashimi no Kizu
Lately I've been listening to more of SKE48, a somewhat new all female group like BeForU, Speed, etc. Tsuyoki Mono Yo
Similarly, AKB48, a group produced by the same person as SKE48, Yasushi Akimoto. Bingo!
Perfume has definitely been one of the more popular artists recently though they've been around for quite some time.
