But yeah, they also have a nice meeting with Heathcliff, who hasn't shown up in the anime yet. Also Kirito proposes to Asuna.
Heathcliff was a pretty cool guy. Gives them crappy advice 'cause they bought him crappy food.

Re: Sword Art Online
For such an important character, I'm surprised that they aren't at least mentioning him yet. Then again I suppose they haven't actually done anything important yet.

Re: Sword Art Online
What a great episode, epic, dramatic, hilarious and romantic.
I'm glad this show is going to be 25 eps, I'm not happy that Accel World is going to go on for at least another season.

Re: Sword Art Online
So did the chapter where they do it get published and then get taken away and made non-canon after the writer got fanbase complaints?

No, it was originally part of the web novel. When the web novel got published into novels, the sex got edited out.

AI has become too advanced, the Reapers are coming.
On a side note, now I know the Kanji for Kokoro.

Yeah that was funny.
So...... yeah....... WOW
ironically I asked Brian about what would happen after SAO, but I had no idea SAO was ending next episode...... err well the game, not the whole series.
Something that has propelled this show so much higher in my regard than Accel World is how well it was written in comparison, there are a lot less "WTF?" moments, and everything kinda works within some guidelines which is interesting, but this episode kinda killed it. At first I thought the plot twist was awesome, but then Asuna just somehow uses the power of love to cure the Paralysis? I thought she was going to say something logical like "I just happened to have one paralysis potion left!" and god knows what Deus ex Machina
Anyways we have 11 episodes left, and I guess they're going to have to change the name of the show soon......... or something. Hopefully a new OP and ED song too, I'm really sick of LiSA.

Re: Sword Art Online
Well I wasn't sure what kind of pacing they were going for with this show, but I did know that the SAO arc would end soon.
But yeah, time for the stupid ALO arc (fairy wings, bro-con, and more deus ex machinas than you can shake a stick at).

Balls, I was kinda hoping for an original ending to finish the anime after what you told me.

Re: Sword Art Online
This is still my favorite show of the season, I can't wait to see when Kirito finds out that Leafa is his sister.
His explanation of why she doesn't turn him on was funny too.

I got reminded of Index. What with the progression of attack with swords, then shoot arrows, then shoot swords...

Re: Sword Art Online
Hope I'm not reviving a dead topic here, but I just finished SAO and wanted to comment on it. Tons of spoilers ahead!
Honestly, what the heck were they thinking with ALO? I really enjoyed the first 14 episodes, but they seemed to throw out most of the interesting aspects of the show during the second half. Asuna randomly becomes a damsel in distress, Kirito no longer has any character development whatsoever, and they randomly throw in a weird cousin love interest. On top of all this, if you think about any of the character's reasoning or motivations for more than ten seconds it all falls apart. The main villain is going to marry Asuna so that he can have his way with her, right? How is that going to work? Is he going to wheel her bed back to his place? Is he going to violate her in the hospital room, where she's attached to 20 medical machines with a full staff of nurses and doctors always on standby? None of it makes any sense. If they wanted to add real motivation and tension, the main villain should have told Kirito that he had Asuna trapped in ALO and that he was going to torture her there. Tadaaa- motivation for the hero that actually makes sense.
I understand that they were adapting the light novels, but honestly... most of the ALO arc was just not enjoyable to watch. That said, the show as a whole was still quite good. The SAO arc was great, the moment where Leafa figures out who Kirito is was really well done, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ending of ALO. Watching the villain (can't remember his name off the top of my head) get sliced to pieces was immensely satisfying. The epilogue episode was a great way to end the show- it was fun to see Liz and the others again. Here's to hoping that the inevitable sequel anime/movie captures more of SAO's essence than ALO's.
