New year, new winter watch list

Though I skipped doing this last time because my watchlist ended up being a lot smaller than I had anticipated.


Sequels and Continuations

Ace of Diamond - All this shounen buildup, they have to win the big one sometime right?

Ass-Class 2 - I wonder what they'll even do from now on. I have a feeling this is one of those that's never gonna end.

Gate (the JSDF fought) - More Rory, more AH-Apache strafing runs, more ancient civilization getting mowed down by modern military.

Haikyuu - I hope to god they win. Because if they lose, that's gonna mean another 24+ ep season in 2017. Unlike Kuroko's that'd be bad.

Heavy Object - So far I have been greatly enjoying. Looking forward to more oddly drawn explosions, Frolaytia's thighs, and the misadventures of Qwenthur and Havia.

Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans - Finally a Gundam show I can look forward to (other than the Origin and apparently now Thunderbolt).


The New Shit

Active Raid - They had me at "Mobile Assault Division" and "powered armor exoskeletons"

Ajin - HOLY SHIT, I've been dreaming of a story like this one for years! It's exactly why I never liked other shows or movies about immortality.

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi - More time travel? Just don't make it dumb like Charlotte did. Sounds a bit depressing though.

Dimension W - From the creator of Darker Than Black, this is a must for me. Judging from the PV I can expect a hella good OP and OST.

Divine Gate - 2 shows about a gate? Probably won't be as good as JSDF's Gate, but it looks better than Bubuki Buranki (which I'm not watching).

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar - A-1 + a very Fire Emblem-ey looking setting. I'm down. Since they'll never animate a Fire Emblem again, I gotta take what I can get.

Haruchika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru - Not sure if music anime? Once again, the years as a musician curse kicks in. PV indicates some kind of mystery?

Luck and Logic - The written synopsis sounded dumb, but the PV made it worth checking out. At least they reference the Greek goddess Athena correctly in that she's a strategist that thinks logically. Ehhh? Ehhhhhh? Gotcha beeitch?

Musaigen no Phantom World - Well, when there's somethin strange in the neighborhood, who ya gonna call? KYO-ANI.

PSO2 the Animation - There's no possible way this is going to be "good" but since I feel I've played enough of the game, I'll at least understand why.

Prince of Stride - Oh look, they took the characters from Free, modified them slightly and turned them into track runners. Time for more gay sports.

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut - OH, guy walks into girls dorm? Sees princess naked? Gets challenged to a duel? WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE? I'm probably not sticking with it. I just want to see if it's just as generic and stupid as Rakudai Kishi/Asterisk.

Schwarzesmarken - Part of the Muv-Luv universe so it's a must for me. Fighting the BETA with MiGs though, that could be cool.


The Maybes

Dagashi Kashi - This will likely replace the first show I drop. I've been seeing it around and it doesn't sound like total garbage.

Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu - If we're going slice of life, I seem to be drawn towards main characters that have "go-with-the-flow" attitudes and get dragged into something they know nothing about, but don't necessarily object to it either since they don't know what they want to do with their life. Probably because it reminds me of me in high school.


21 shows if you include the maybes. Meh, 6 more than what last season's final watchlist ended up being. Knowing me there's bound to be 2-3 that get cut.

Also Thanh, mentioning FE above reminded me to talk to you about it. I finally got around to a second playthrough of 4. (apparently there's a new patch out that changes soclknight to cavalier, Hero *weapon* to Brave, Celice is now apparently Serlis/Seliph, Levin is now Lewyn etc. Oddly enough I can't get the newest patch to work despite following every forum's instructions to a T, so I'm using the last stable one)

Aside from playing again, I had also watched 2 other youtuber's playthroughs. Not sure why neither of them paired Lex/Aira like I did. Even on Serenes-Forest.com they rank that pairing as low tier in favor of pairing Aira with Holyn or Jamka. One of those makes sense, but I did Brigid/Jamka for holy-shit-Faval-just-attacked-10-times-in-a-row. I somehow ended up not pairing Sylvia and wondered what happens and lo and behold, I find there's a whole cast of substitute characters (that are arguably worse than the canon children). Despite being able to get Holsety from chapter 1 if you pair Levin/Tiltyu, I find that it's still better on Sety having paired him with Fury.

I also had missed the Berserk staff on my first run, so I made sure to get that and use it on Ishtar in the final chapter for the lolz. Sat back and watched her decimate her own army. I also had a much easier time with Alvis this time around. I remembered him being a lot harder the first time. Aless 1 rounded him because Mistoltn OP.

Anywho, now that that's done, I'm in the process of beating Radiant Dawn since I got a Wii/GC emulator to work on my PC. Running a FE panel at Taiyou-con and it's the only one I haven't beat. I refuse to play through Thracia again. It was too hard. I also got RNG screwed on the characters with the best growth rates. Single RNG FTL. Though I could swear Radiant Dawn uses it too. I've been getting hit by 15-20% resulting in quite a few restarts. Tier 3 classes are the shit though.

Does dark dragon still break the game?

The new patch supposedly fixes it, but the epilogue still isn't fully translated. Serenes-forest has been my savior. Ike still most busted FE lord. Ragnell + Aether skill + max STR/SPD/SKL = 1 man army

Doubling stacking odo blood is stupid. Lex gives the kids a 2 skills, one of which is a fun skill that lets sword masters GO FIRST when under half health (and he gives strong hp and def, so wth) while holyn only gives moonlight sword. Moonlight sword can't activate at the same time as meteor sword, and either one is already good. Parent genetics are a waste, Ayra's genes already cap the stats you need on a mymidon. Lex is better because he gives better growth on str and def, things sword masters don't need but would like (seriously, the son has 70% def). What does this tell us? Incest is BAD!

I don't know how jamka works because I never needed to use any other parent than Lex. But WTF, why wouldn't you pair his skill genes on briggid to get machine gun Faval with a holy weapon!?

As for who should get Forseti. Hey, you know what Levyn's 90% speed growth is good for? Triggering pursuit which Tiltyu doesn't have!

The second generation pairings don't matter so I didn't intentionally do anything, but my results were random and lolzy. I chose Johan over Johalva because mounted unit. I distinctly remember you telling me the first time around not to do something with Leaf or else he'd get Gae Bolg'd. Still apparently didn't learn from the first time because Altenna Gae Bolg'd him again and I had to restart.

I finished gen 2 playthru. But if you mean the new one, I actually haven't played it yet. Trying to beat Project X Zone 2 first. They came out in the same week which sucked.
