Hmm, hat do I say about this show?

On a general level, I liked the show. Art was appealing, though I'm not sure why the resolution was the way it was.

As for the plot, wow this went somewhere. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but it's like so over the top from where it started it just played with suspension of disbelief. The sexually charged script and bloody violence probably helped.

I think there were problems in choosing routes though. Considering how much Sakaki was in promotional stuff, her focus was not that much.

I think it was probably more like the author did not know what they wanted to make (other than it has to center around tomatoes), so they blew it off for a chapter by having her cook everything.

Danmachi:

The show is overall decent. The writing is pretty meh, what with powers that render its own internal controls pointless. What brings this up from mediocrity is its fantastic productions.

I was reminded that UBW is my least favorite FS/N arc, I wish the Fate arc was redone, but I guess UBW did need a full series. All that matters is that the best arc will be getting a series of movies, so all will be right with the world. To be honest, the made-up fanservice in the last episode was fantastic though, I enjoyed it more than anything else from this show.

This show for me was akin to sequels such as Danganronpa 2 and Tales of Xillia 2. The first in the series was fine and all, but the sequel took what was built up and made it better in so many ways, and in the process made you appreciate the former material even more.
I thought Fruit of Grisaia was 'alright' and had a great main lead, but after leaving us off with the sister arc, it started getting interesting. Then the OVA and first half of Rakuen was just AMAZING, and really fleshed out the great character that we were so vested in from the beginning. In my opinion the second half was a little "out there" as you said, but still a decent way to end off from such a solid start.
I really like how it ended fully and didn't leave us with any hanging questions, I'm hoping this series stays done and doesn't get diluted with pointless ovas and sequels like Steins;Gate.

I agree the production value for this show was surprisingly nice, and I loved all of the characters, the contained yet expansive world that was created. I think Bell and Hestia are probably one of the best duos out there right now, and I'm really looking forward to more of this. I definitely didn't expect a keeper out of this show when I first started. I can understand though what you mean when it seems they try and put laws of the world in place though, and then just break it because why the fuck not. I'm hoping I can remember some good examples for when I do my end of the season review.
