Akira Live Action Movie

I'm not sure if I'm going to put this on Anime Discussion or Random Talk, but I'll put in Random Talk- just to be safe!

Yes! I saw this on E!News, there's going to be a Akira live-action movie, produced by Leonardo DiCapario and Warner Bros and released in 2009.

It seems like there's a new trend of live-action, Hollywood produced animes (*Speed Racer**Dragonball**Battle Angel**Lupin III**Gatchaman*). Let's hope that it's not going to be campy bomb like Fist of the North Star or be in development hell like NGE.

yeah, Chris showed us last night at club, but he failed to mention DiCaprio. I'm now even more concerned for the movie than ever!

This is gonna be hilarious, I've never seen the anime nor do I care too but any american movie based off of an anime is great to watch to laugh at how horrendous it is.

I fear what America will do to the legacy of old-school anime. I know it says DiCaprio is currently not planning to be in it, but if he ever played Tetsuo, I would love it. I would love to see him become that giant messy mass of whatever the heck it was. I would pay much indeed to see it.
