Apparently there's a Higurashi live action movie in the makings that is planned to be released in spring 08.

That opening was a bit confusing. You can tell some characters Keichi, Shion, Rika basically the main characters are pretty much all that's shown and I suppose it doesn't look too bad but it felt too short to tell if it was any good either. I'm gonna say it's not good but hope for the best.

I read from somewhere awhile ago that the live action was only gonna cover the first question ark, but the opening looked like it had scenes from the other arks too. hmmm...
